ALPCDDOCMAR97.RELEASE_NOTES Kit Name: ALPCDDOCMAR97 Kit Description: This kit creates a directory with a Bookreader bookshelf hierarchy for accessing Bookreader books on the March 1997 OpenVMS Alpha Online Documentation Library (ODL) CD-ROMs. This kit may be applied to any version of OpenVMS running OpenVMS DECwindows or OpenVMS DECwindows Motif (OpenVMS VAX V5.1 or higher; OpenVMS Alpha V1.0 or higher). Problems addressed in this kit: This kit provides Bookreader access to the March 1997 OpenVMS Alpha ODL CD-ROMs for customers who do not meet the system requirements for installing BNU or who want to continue using only Bookreader while planning their BNU implementation. Installation Instructions: 1. Run VMSINTALL to install the ECO kit: $ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL ALPCDDOCMAR97 {location of saveset} The kit will install the Bookreader bookshelf files in the directory SYS$COMMON:[DECW$BOOK.AXPDOCMAR97]. 2. Define DECW$BOOK to include this directory. For example: $ DEFINE/SYSTEM DECW$BOOK SYS$COMMON:[DECW$BOOK.AXPDOCMAR97] 3. Mount the March 1997 OpenVMS Alpha ODL CD-ROMs. The Bookreader hierarchy refers to the CD-ROMs by the logical names DISK$AXPDOCMAR971 and DISK$AXPDOCMAR972. These are the default logical names assigned by the OpenVMS MOUNT command. For example: $ MOUNT/SYSTEM/NOWRITE DKA400: AXPDOCMAR971 %MOUNT-I-MOUNTED, AXPDOCMAR971 mounted on _NODE$DKA400: $ SHOW LOGICAL DISK$AXPDOCMAR971 "DISK$AXPDOCMAR971" = "NODE$DKA400:" (LNM$SYSTEM_TABLE) 4.
